Where Is the Kingdom of God That God Has Prepared for Us?

When asked where the kingdom of God is, most people will answer, “The Lord Jesus said, ‘I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also’ (John 14:2–3). Since the Lord Jesus’ resurrection and ascent into heaven was to prepare a place for us, then the place prepared for us is in heaven—the kingdom of God must be in heaven.” It is true that the Lord Jesus said He would prepare a place for us, but did the Lord say the place prepared for us would be in heaven? Is that understanding really in accordance with the Lord’s will? Actually, the Lord didn’t tell us clearly that the kingdom of God is in heaven. However, we determine that the kingdom of God is in heaven just based on this verse—isn’t this an arbitrary assertion? Isn’t this likely off the mark? So, if we want to know where the kingdom of God is, we must seek and investigate in many aspects. Below, let’s study the Bible and see where the kingdom of God is.

It Turns Out That the Place Prepared for Us by God Is Not in Heaven

As for where the kingdom of God is, let’s first look at what it says in the Lord’s Prayer. The Lord Jesus said, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done in earth, as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10). The Book of Revelation also clearly prophesies, “And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God” (Revelation 21:2–3). “The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and He shall reign for ever and ever” (Revelation 11:15).

From the Lord Jesus’ words and the prophecies in Revelation, we can see clearly that the kingdom of God is on earth, not in heaven. Two thousand years ago, the Lord Jesus had us pray for the kingdom of God to come to earth, and pray that God’s will be carried out without hindrance on earth. When the Lord returns in the last days, He will ultimately accomplish the fact that “The tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them” and that “The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ.” That’s to say, when the Lord Jesus returns, He will establish His kingdom on earth. At that time, God will still lead people in living on earth and worshiping God, all people will live by God’s words and become of one mind with God, and will no longer commit sin, resist God or rebel against God, and thereby the kingdom of God will be made upon the earth. All this shows that God’s will is to establish His kingdom on earth. If we believe the kingdom of God is in heaven according to our notions, then doesn’t that mean these prophecies will come to nothing?

From Beginning to End, God’s Will Is to Have Man Live on Earth

Actually, from start to finish, God’s will is to have man live on earth. For example, in the beginning, God created Adam and Eve on earth to have them watch over all things and be a manifestation of God’s glory on earth; God didn’t place them in heaven. Later, they were tempted by the snake to eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil and were driven out of the Garden of Eden by God. From then on, mankind lived under Satan’s domain. They were harmed by Satan and became more and more corrupted. As a result, God decided to use a flood to destroy the mankind who was at the height of corruption. At that time, only Noah’s family of eight were blessed by God and allowed to survive and reproduce on earth. After that, God began His management plan to save mankind. In the Age of Law, God issued the law through Moses to guide mankind’s life on earth. At the end of the Age of Law, human beings became more and more corrupted, failed to keep the law and were in danger of being put to death by the law. Thus, God personally came to earth in the flesh to become man’s eternal sin offering, thereby redeeming man from sin and allowing them to continue living on earth. The Lord Jesus prophesied that in the last days He would come again, establish His kingdom on earth, and make the world’s kingdom the kingdom of Christ. These facts show us that God’s intention is to have man live on earth and that His will has always been carried out on earth, which has been predetermined by God and is an unalterable fact. So, our belief that the kingdom of God is in heaven is absolutely the notion and imagination of man and doesn’t conform to God’s will.

Let’s read a passage of God’s words and then we’ll understand more clearly about the fact that God will accomplish in the end—to have the kingdom of heaven appear on earth. God’s words say, “God will return to His original place, and each person will return to their respective place. These are the destinations in which God and humans will reside once God’s entire management is finished. God has God’s destination, and humanity has humanity’s destination. While resting, God will continue to guide all humans in their lives upon earth, and while in His light, they will worship the one true God in heaven. God will no longer live among humanity, nor will humans be able to live with God in His destination. God and humans cannot live within the same realm; rather, both have their own respective manners of living. God is the One who guides all of humanity, and all of humanity is the crystallization of God’s management work. Humans are the ones who are led, and are not of the same substance as God. To ‘rest’ means to return to one’s original place. Therefore, when God enters into rest, it means He has returned to His original place. He will no longer live upon the earth or be among humanity to share in their joy and suffering. When humans enter into rest, it means that they have become true objects of creation; they will worship God from upon the earth, and live normal human lives. People will no longer be disobedient to God or resist Him, and will return to the original life of Adam and Eve. These will be the respective lives and destinations of God and humans after they enter into rest. Satan’s defeat is an inevitable trend in the war between it and God. As such, God’s entering into rest after the completion of His management work and humanity’s complete salvation and entrance into rest have likewise become inevitable trends. Humanity’s place of rest is on earth, and God’s place of rest is in heaven. While humans worship God in rest, they will live upon the earth, and while God leads the rest of humanity in rest, He will lead them from heaven, not from earth.”

We can see from this passage that the kingdom of God will appear on earth. When all God’s work of salvation on earth is complete, God and mankind will have their respective manners of resting. God will continue to lead mankind’s life on earth and mankind will worship God on earth. This is the beautiful destination prepared by God for mankind. At that time, mankind’s life will still be on earth, yet mankind will have thoroughly cast off the bonds of sin and been purified, and will no longer rebel against or resist God. They will live amidst God’s guidance happily upon the earth, and there will be no worries, disasters, pain or death. Just as Revelation 21:4 prophesies, “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”

Now we’ve seen that God’s will is to have man live on earth and that when the Lord returns, He will establish His kingdom on earth. Only by welcoming the Lord can we have the chance to enter the kingdom of God. Then how can we welcome the Lord? The Lord Jesus prophesied, “I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth” (John 16:12–13). “And if any man hear My words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejects Me, and receives not My words, has one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day” (John 12:47–48). “Sanctify them through Your truth: Your word is truth” (John 17:17). And Revelation 22:14 says, “Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” From this we know that when the Lord returns in the last days, He will express many truths, use the truth to do the work of judgment and purification, make man those who obey and worship Him, and in the end bring them into the kingdom. So, if we want to enter the kingdom of God in the end, we must first welcome the Lord, and accept His work of judging, cleansing, conquering and saving man when He returns. These years, only The Church of Almighty God has been publicly testifying that the Lord Jesus has returned as Almighty God, Christ of the last days. Almighty God has expressed the truth and is doing the work of judgment beginning with the house of God to save and cleanse man, which completely fulfills the Lord Jesus’ prophecies. Only by actively seeking and investigating according to the Lord’s words, by accepting the final stage of God’s work in the last days of purifying and saving mankind, and by achieving what is spoken of in the words “These are they which follow the Lamb wherever He goes” (Revelation 14:4), can we have the chance to enter the kingdom of God in the end and enjoy the life on earth akin to heaven.
